                    Re

                    You'll be fine matey!

                    I got made redundant on 29th December 2002 from a £60,000 a year job!

X Type Jaguar as a company car, £500 a week expenses, the usual senior management bull****.

                    I was completely devastated!

We lost our house, our cars, our furniture, my self esteem, my credit rating, ****** everything and we ended up in a council 2 up 2 down terrace!

Life seems to be a series of "ups and downs" and everyone has them.

The absolute MOST important thing is to remember the "ups and downs", don't even begin to think it is personal and realise that having money is dependant ENTIRELY on you and your abilities.

Go work for yourself, be your own boss, find something you are really good and and exploit the hell out of it!

I will NEVER be dependant on employment ever again.

I vowed that I will make my own money and be my own boss ever since I was "downsized".

It is slow and hard but worth it because you will never again be at the mercy of another!

                    Gary

Thanks for the support lads and lasses. It is a big step, but I've been working nights now for 12 years for a massive company, who don't give a **** about their workers and enoughs enough.

Time to get my thinking head on and branch out a bit. Some of you know I'm building a house (finance is sorted for that), lets just say when its finished in about 6 months, you might see me and the missus on property developers or houses under the hammer..............big step......but hey!, i can only fall one way.

All your posts have made me feel upbeat about it,

                        thanks.....
...........oh and by the way, just got confirmation from employment tribunal that they are investigating my claim...............you never know, what goes around, comes around

i got contructively dismissed a few years back, and its the best thing that ever happened to me! i didnt realise how much i hated the place, till i didnt have to go there every day... for about three months after, almost everyday there was a 'oh, christ this or thats got to be done....hang on no it doesn't. its someone elses problem now' moment .... got very skint for a bit, but who needs money? keep your head straight, and crack on!
                          it's in me shed, mate.

I know how you feel mate I am in the same boat, I was notified just before Christmas that I was "AT RISK OF REDUNDANCY" due to a down turn in orders and they offered me a compromise agreement which I stuck out not to sign untill the end of January as I was going to sue the *******S because i was assessed by a "MANAGER" who I had asked for TWO greivance procedures to be instigated against, this was prior to my assesment.

Any way I managed to get them to pay for part of my trainiing as a driving Instructor, so I intend to get a little car and start my own little business and I hope that i will keep the surf. I just need to find a short term contract doing something untill I complete the training.

And now to top it all I hear today that they are about to up production and take on more staff as they now dont have enough staff!! So they are going to take on new staff and have to train them!

                              Now is that good management????

Good luck with your search Fieldsy Mate
