I will post here . Took the 2.2 engine out of KFC today so I can put into my grey one as the carb is shot and no rebuild kit available .
I also modified the EGR kit fitted , which meant unbolting all the pipes and valve blocks and chucking in the bin. No ball bearing tricks here . Even the manifold is being swapped .
Jon (Jotto) turned up to give a hand as the dowels had seized the engine to the gearbox it needed 2 people.
Going to use the Stainless Steel exhaust , but not the down pipes !!(slight blow I think)

Started stripping out the engine from my grey Runner today . Also stripped out the A/C as it blocks to much of the main rad , which is falling apart .
Just need to get the hoist on this engine and the swop will start .
I am going to look into my own Weber carb kit as no one has one and the carb on the 2.2 is auto choke and had all the EGR rubbish with it .

KFC engine is in the grey one now . New clutch also fitted . Had to drop the truck onto the front discs (with packing under hubs) so I could get the old engine out . Bloomin suspension lift made it a nightmare!!.


Roughtracks have no manifold gaskets so I will not get the engine going for a while . I will try the Stealership .


Why is it when I book a day holiday off work I am ill ?. Horrid head cold . .

Rick , as you know , I would have gone down to yours if your head had turned up . I am still up to help if you need it mate .

Would Stevo have a gasket for a 4Y ? Suppose worth a ring .

Thanks to Sumo me Non Runner runs !! Rick got me all the parts no one else would supply plus a recon rad for free .
I fitted the stainless steel exhaust from KFC but may bin it as very loud . Had to cut and shut the exhaust pipes as it would not line up to my down pipes for some reason .
No test drive yet as need to make one more exhaust hanger and not got any steel rod to make it from .
