  • Calling all KITE folks...

The confirmed dates for the Middle Wallop Kite and Buggy festivals are...

Late May Bank Holiday 29/30/31 and August 7/8.

This is one of the biggest shows in the country and a really great weekend. Last year we had over 200 buggies in May - need to beat that this year.

Oh yes and I'm running the bar so make sure you hang out there all weekend!!!

    More details at www.wallopkitenbuggy.org.uk

PM me if you have any questions....

Wanna see how powerful these kites are ?

Not sure where Wallop is But I'm going to get one if I escape again.

Beware of oncoming oblivious pedestrians. Buggying was banned in Lytham for 12 months as that lady was decappitated or something like it.

                    Enjoy.

                        .
Thats why this place is so good. It 600 Acres of RAF airfield with specific areas marked off for buggys, power kites, single line etc.... The camping and pedestrian areas are also clearly identified and seperate.

Middle Wallop is near Andover in Hampshire.

And yes Pops - some of the more powerful kites could move a surf with ease!

That sounds like a marvellous idea to me, and anyone who wants to buy a nice big kite give me a shout - I'm a dealer for Ozone kites. Might even give you a discount!!

I had thought about trying to pull the surf with a couple of kites... never figured the best way to do it though. I do also have a paraglider that would definately pull the surf!

Camping, kiting and Linda running the bar - sounds like an ideal weekend!

Middle Wallop was completed as an RAF base in 1940, then passed over to the Royal Navy in 1945 for about a year, then went back to the RAF until about 1956, when the the Army Air Corps took over and as far as i know still have control
