3.4l surf

Hi recently bought a 3.4l SSR-G surf and remember reading somewhere that if the head gasket has been changed to the new improved one there would be a paint spot under the bonnet, does anyone know if this is fact or myth if fact where would I find it. Cheers

we don't have the 3.4's over here so thats probably why we can't help with this one.

Never seen a 3.4 in the flesh, never understood there to be a problem, thought it was only the 3.0 V6's that had dodgey gaskets.

You dont get the 3.4l?, They really are good to drive with plenty of power, had a 1993 2.4D prior to this and there is no comparison between the two.

You can get them here, just buy one at the Jap auctions and bring it in. Theres a fair few around at the auctions and prices seem not so bad. same as you dont see many 2.7s around, people prefer diesel.
