  • Sony DVD player

    Hi folks
    Can anybody help.
A few years ago I splashed out on a Sony DAV S800 system.
It has had very little use as it is very fussy about which DVDs it will play.
Last night whilst watching a rental DVD it stopped working and would not eject. I managed to remove the disc after taking the player apart.
Can anybody suggest a good repair centre - other than Sony.
The player has been a pain since i bought it, being so picky about what it will and wont play - sometimes changing its mind half way through a film.
Sad thing is, I paid over £800 for it. I bought a cheapy DVD player for the bedroom from asda for £17 and it knocks the socks off the Sony.
I would love to crush the player - but £800 is a lot of money to crush in a rage.
    any advice??
    Everyone thinks I'm paranoid!!

The trouble is you bought it when they were new and expensive. You might find a genuine independant repair shop near you. Euronics dealers usually have an in-house repair tech. Our local one is pretty fair.
      It's only a hobby!
