  • o2 mobile phone advice needed

    hi all.......

ive just taken a new contract out with o2 well i received the phone on the 30th of jan, and on the 15th of feb i rang them up complaining of very poor reception and told the guy i am using an old nokia and the reception is not to bad although not as good as orange on the nokia.
the guy from o2 suggested that they send me another phone as this one may have a faulty antenna ( samsung z320i ). ok so i go with that even though i doubted that the phone was faulty...
i get the new phone on the 17th of feb and try it out , as i suspected its no diffrent from the other one....
so i ring o2 up again this morning at 9 am ,they said ring this number back after 10 am as the people i need to speak to dont start till 10 am..
so i rings back at 10:20 am and was put through to returns, they did a little searching through there computers and said bacause the phone was signed for on the 30th of jan i am no longer in the return period (14 days) i said all i want is a hand set that works and as reception, they said due to the 14 day rule there is nothing that they can do.
i then said ok i would like to speak to a manager then please, he said that there is no point cause all he will say is the same as i....
i said well thats for me to find out isnt it??,he said ok ill ask if there is anybody here, after one min he comes back and says there is no one available at the moment, so iasked him for his name and said i will be making a complaint about this and if required legal advice..... but he will not budge on this matter.. my next route is to ring back o2 and make an offical complaint but i doubt that will get me anywhere.... i know i should have repoted this within the 14 days but i thought they would treat this as a fault so i would have 28 days?? how wrong was i.....

all i want from o2 is an hand set that works is that to much to ask for???

have any of you guys had any experiences like this if so some advice would be great......
    thanks guys......

p.s. they said they can swap it for a hand set the same as i already have with in the first 28 days.....what good is that......

My other half and his business partner got a deal on two phones from one of the major retailers. We live in a good reception area but unfortunately John doesn't and after much wrangling they were eventually refunded the money they had paid for line rental under the guise of being mis-sold the phones, and released from the contract. I suggest you check the coverage in your area using their website - I know 3 have this facility and I have been very happy with the service I've had!
    Good luck with it!

i thought that if you are sold goods "that are not fit for the purpose for which they are bought" there is no time limit from the supplier, only the manufacturers 1 year warrenty.
If you get no joy with them try the citizens advice or even complain to the phone manufacturer about the service you have received from the retailer.
      good luck!!

I did the O2 online contract.
As I was self unemployed, I needed the bills for my accounts.
After the first time I logged on I couldn't get them.
I sent E-mails, calls and a post letter.
            The end result?
One of their tekies said I had a firewall on my computer.
            Must have had one on,
            the works computer
            My Dad's computer
            My mates computer
            My sister's computer.
And my other mate down the road.

Its been nearly 2 years now, and I am still waiting for them to send the hard copies I requested.

            O2 suck!

My missus and I bought two new phones from an Orange outlet, from the off one of the phones would not charge properly, something wrong with one of the jacks.
After several months of putting up with this I decided to get it sorted, the little woman went to the shop to get the problem sorted only to be told that " it is out of the 28 day returns period " and that they could not do anything.
She pointed out that it was in his best interest to sort the problem, because I would be none to pleased with his reasonings.
So she came home and told me what he had to say..... I went through the roof and rang him, according to him and as I subsequently found out, the mobile phone companies are exempt from the " goods fit for use " scenario.
So I told him I would be in the following day to explain my thoughts on his reasonings.
I walked into the shop... explained I was the guy he'd spoken to the day before and that I WANTED my phone exchanging..... to which he said he could'nt.
It was at this point that I explained to all the customers in his shop that buying a phone from this wan..... er...... gentleman was a REALLY bad idea.
After they had all left...... guess what....... yup... I got a new phone !

Thats what I call...... purchasing power.
Who needs speed, People will always wait for me !

You have to be carefull of the word "SLANDER"
They can have you done for that and you don't get your phone sorted.
You were lucky the guy was a wuss!
