Hi Scotty. Just to warn you, you'll need to find at least £600 for insurance seeing as you're only 21.

They're not a standard fitting but a lot of them have had aftermarket Cat1's put on.. You'll prob need a little more than 2k to get yourself set-up.. For insurance try Sureterm Direct, I'm 24 - 6 points, 1 ban and live in Manchester and mine was a good qoute, Tell them your a member here and you'll get discount. There phone Number is on the roughtrax website (Do a google search and you'll find it) under the insurance section.

i picked up my surf for 2200 (2.4TD auto '91) but I've spent lots more on it since... in fact I wish I had just bought pops! but I never saw it at the time... only found this site after I made my purchase.

if it has a dodgy or non-existent service history you'll also be looking at a fair few hundred for a major service to make sure it's in good nick.

my advice: save up and shop around! I wish I had... (not that I dont love my surf but the grass is always greener!)
I got me a new Surf baby yeah!

I'm 26, 2yr NCB, living in suburbia and paying £700 fully comp with tesco at the moment. it's up for renewal though so I'm gonna shop around a bit... I just tried Sureterm Direct but they were coming out higher... apparently the specialist 4x4 companies they deal with will only apply a discount if it is kept off the road - i dont have a driveway though
I got me a new Surf baby yeah!

i got insured first through Tesco and i had 3 points 1 claim and i was 20 at the time. when your 21 you get a whole load of people who will quote you.
