Yes got XP, what I am after is to compress even further if possible, as I still end up with huge files. a winzip video copression sort of thing if you see what i mean. Searched around such things do exist just wondering if anyone had any expereinces.
If you have XP, you should also have Movie Maker. It's under Accessories, Entertainment.
You can import clips, add basic titles, etc. There is a timeline at the bottom of the screen, which lets you create a sort of story board using photos, clips and text banners. Details at Movie Maker at Microsoft.Com
Then you can create a media file, using one of several compression systems.
If you cannot find a compression system you like, you could try xVid, which is available at http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml. It has very high quality compression, and produces small files. (It is, of course, the most difficult to set up and use.)
I think, if you have a valid XP license, you can download Movie Maker 2 for free.

Yep seen that, got nero as well, just want to go smaller.
Go to www.vcdhelp.com, theres heaps of info on compressions, software (some is free!) and very good detailed guides on how to do it.
I use it all the time for the very same reason. All depends what format you want it in and the eventual size.
AVI's are good, but quite large, try changing the dimensions, and not go for 800x600. Although looks nice in full screen, its a monster file size. Most people have got the DivX codec now so compress with DivX and you'll get a reasonable file size.
I'd shy away from WMV's as these aren't reliable and often only work on recent Windows Media Player. Also the file sizes can be large.
Alternatively if you just want the file hosted on a site then try putfile.com or google video. They'll host it and give you a link to it.
If you want it edited then Windows Movie Maker is a good start to get the video looking the way you want with titles and bits clipped out to make it more watchable. Save the finished vid as an AVI then use a different program to compress it into DivX or Xvid.
