  • 2nd Gen Light Bulb Question

OK guys, any of you fitted LED Bulbs to a 2nd Gen to replace the Brake / Rear, Indicator and reversing lights ?

If so did they fit easy or did you have to do any mods ? (I know the indicators likely to need the resistor)

They all have the resistors built in so they're direct replacements.

The fitting is my concern, the heads look large, and surf bulbs go in from behind (oh er missus ).

I do not want to buy them to find that they will not fit through the holes.

I can't see them being any larger than the bulbs they replace as they wouldn't sell many.
My Mondeo is the same, bulbs go through holes in the light cluster.

                  Update time

Found a home for the "fat" bulbs and now got these

These are the mutts nutts, bright and fit a treat.

Now to do battle with resistors to get the indicators playing ball.

Just fitted some, as mine were well overdue... been stopped and advised by work colleagues...

Oh the shame of it... (like I care what they think)

                    Anyway... back to the topic.

                    Quad Conversions
                    55 Buckstone Grove
                    Leeds
                    West Yorkshire
                    LS17 5HN

Needed some quick, and they were quite pricey (should have started looking sooner, serves me right...) but reasonably reputable operation... so got some comeback...

They fit, more importantly, and they are brighter than the original bulbs...
So I now have to see how they fair with the bump and grind of my stiff suspension, and the miles I put down...before I pass final judgement... and for now, both rears and brake lights work... so less attention...

Now for the invisibility cloak... Like to find where the switch really is, so that I can turn in off occassionally...
