some say vegtable oil cos it smells less - not sure about sutability.. I use SVO (Straigt Veg Oil) from the supermarket

MOT: It'll only help emissions.. there not bothered about tax forms etc

If it's not labled as vegetable oil, look for rape seed oil. That's what's usually recommended.

Apparently WVO (waste veg oil) will make you truck smell like a chip van, whereas new SVO has less of a distinct flavour. So no worries with the stuff you buy from Tescos.

Tesco stuff is the stuff i used, that exact bottle above. I just went for it, wacked 20 litres in and havent looked back! (only to check for smoke)

I'm going to openly display my ignorance here. After I post this, I'm going to do a search for veg oil and bio-diesel.

Are you guys saying that you put vegetable oil in your fuel tank in varying proportions with regular diesel fuel, to achieve better fuel economy?

The same oil that we use to fry chips can be used as fuel for a diesel engine?

Basically.... YES!!!

It doesn't exactly increase economy, but it does lower the cost of fuel. It doesn't however work in every diesel engine, but it does in surfs.
