I have ordered a towbar from Towequipe, should be here thursday or friday, question is...... when fitting the wiring, which side is the best side to come up through the floor with the cable for breaking into existing wiring, any advice gratefully received.

I did mine on he drivers side, but I don't think it makes any difference. At least one cable (for the indicator) has to go to the other side, no matter what side you choose.
        It just does, OK?

thanks Dave...... I just wondered incase there was a main feed cable from front to rear that carried ALL the cables to one side at rear, first.

Hi Mate, I am a towbar fitter. Yes the wiring runs down the passenger side but this is a bitch to get to, your best bet is to run to the drivers side, take out the rear lights, take the trim off across the back on boot floor, and run a twin wire accross to passenger side, pull side trims out at bottom and run your wires to back of lights and then wire up to them there.
Hope this helps, thats the easiest way to do it.

                David

                    a word of warning!!!

I purchased my towbar from towequipe - when fitting the actual towbar went together great... got it on the truck... brilliant... started doing the electric's Hmmmmm!!! about 3 cans of beer.... 10 cigs.... a lot of WTF is going on here.... plenty of headscratching and a phonecall to tow equipe and i discovered they'd sent me the wiring colours for the wrong car!!!!

Basically if the colours don't add up as per the instructions.. ring them straight away..

They were great... apologised and phoned me back on my mobile and spent 1/2 an hour on the phone talking me through the colours..

They are a great company and the mistake with my instructions was prob a 1 off... but it might not have been!!!

I wired it throught the N/S hole... found it quite easy.

To get his post count up possibly, why post 2 successive posts within a minute of each other?
                      Should have bought a 3ltr

There is an answer to this..... but I like this site and do not wish to be forceably removed for writting what others might be tempted to agree with.

anyway, tow equippe bars.. you may need a spacer, if you want to use the bumper protector. you only need to gain an inch or so.....
                            it's in me shed, mate.

                              If you go here....
                              http://www.fittinginstructions.co.uk/
You can find fitting instructions for all towbars, that Towequippe supply.

You have to be a customer of theirs though to be able to view the wiring diagrams.
