Thought this might be of some use. Had a problem with my internal tailgate switch. The window would go up on the switch but not down. Mate of mine who knows about things said its got to be a mucky switch bugger all to go wrong with them so it can't be broken. Ok then smarty pants fix it says I. So ten minutes later I have a working switch (don't you just hate a smart arse). If anyone is having similar problems take switch out and you will see a small metal rod holding the rocker part in place, push this out and switch will fall apart. Clean all the contacts and put it back together. Aparantly every time you use the switch it arcs slightly leaving carbon on the contacts. Hope this helps someone Toyota wanted over £50 for a new switch
