anyone ever made a trailer out of a dead hilux pick up? i reckon it would be ideal behind a surf.....

A mate had the back half of a mini van, which he towed behind his mini van. I have also seen a transit trailer behind a transit. Cool idea.It's only a hobby! -

I made one out of an Escort van, only thing I had to cut all the way round it was a hacksaw blade

Can find any pics ATM, but there was a big show truck Hilux called Majestic, that had a hilux bed as a trailer, truck and trailer where all on 44" tyres. It had a topper on it and he camped in it.

drawbacks.. hiluxs seem to rot bed first, what to do with leftovers, and find a nice cheap dead pickup....hmmmmm.......it's in me shed, mate.Comment

Good idea: same track, same tyres etc. I need a trailer for running goods backwards and forwards to Zim and often thought that half a Surf would do. Actually there are alot of 1st Generation 4runners here and they have a pick-up rear with a fibre glass hood so I'm looking for a @dead@ one of those - shouldn't take too long to find one given the state of the roads/driving/drivers here!
If someone has done it or something similar I wouldn't mind a look at their solution if anyone has a link.@africa4x4cafe
