    Maybe!

Oh ok. Yes its hopefully going to get the V8 treatment. Nitrous and Holley 4 barrel!

Well, maybe not the last two but a V8, be it Rover or if I can find the right adapters Chevy.

    Ooooo a 5.7L nitroused, holley'd surf! <droooooool>!

Or the 351 / 350 with the ATI superchargers... between 10 and 22 Psi increase...

Endless options... all down to which auto trans will fit...

but a stroked 302 with a supercharger would be more torque than you could shake a stick at...

Now thats would be nice, but I'm having probs finding the adapter plates for Rovers, let alone anything else.

Plus I do want to try and keep fuel consumption in double figures, even if they are small ones!

            http://www.northwestoffroad.com/

Go to engine adapters and automatic / manual adapters....

These guys mention in their brochure, that they get between 14 and 24 mpg... with the 302's... Later engined EFi's... so not much worse than what was already in there... I find that quite a stretch... but if its only that much of a drop... its worth thinking about... I think its something to do with the torque, you can get up there quicker, without throwing that much fuel at it... and with the differential between unleaded and diesel...

            Magnatec don't do for fords...
Only the ATI and Vortech centrifugal superchargers... (aren't they turbo's?)

I know they are not, 'cos they are crank driven...

don't forget the brakes when upgrading to an engine with that kinda power!

V8 power in the Surf would be lovely. I did consider it but decided I would fall into the modifying trap all over again and I would not be able to stop there, I'd end up throwing thousands more at it!!!

You guys are all talking about V8's. Has anyone tried a 6.2lt V8 Diesel from say a Hummer, in a Surf?

                  So...

                  FJ40 / 4runner V6 discs, V6 calipers...
                  rear disc conversion...

and FJ80 Master cylinder with 1" bore and two residual valves (front and rear)

Bonnet scoop? All that water and a great big hole?

Think not, but think what the snorkel would look like! Blurgh!

                        Nice motor tho!

Was thinking of rear disc and V6 front discs etc. But they prob wouldn't be any bigger, the V6 doesn't produce that much more power tho, does it?

Would need an extra 2ft grafted on to the front wings and bonnet to get it to fit! Go enough problems with entry/exit angles as it is.

                          Bobtailed surf anyone?

Talking of bobtailing. You seen those lovely looking Bowler LR's and all the LR derived buggies about, well they all got rear mounted rads. Wonder if you had a fixed rear window and take the guts out of the tailgate and fit a 5 core 800mm wide rad and kenlowes in it? Would stop me overheating on the way home! Lol!

The mods for the rear axle are derived from a Supra rear disc setup... so I presume that an uprated AP racing Supra front solution could be made to fit... with slightly larger rims of course... say a six pot caliper... and 17" rims...?

Snoop... you know how it goes...

But if you must have those 35" tyres... you have to be able to stop it....

Enough justification for me.... now where did that credit card go...?
