At least you were driving M8!! I got into mine the other sunday, to go to homebase for puppy pen material, and some prannock nearly had me wing mirror. and guess what. A white renault traffic, reg no L or M 551 DKX. give him a wide berth guys! (and I know we shouldn't post reg's on here but if its someone who drives like a Tw*t then whats the problem......)
Driving activites curtailed for the moment anyway. confined to barracks for the near future.

M8 of mine has just been paid out for a white van slamming into him at a set of T-lights.
Bloke said he thought the lights had changed to green and didn't bother braking as he thought my m8 was about to pull away ??????????????????

That was 5 months ago.
His car was fixed and all hospital/treatment paid for by the Prats Ins Co.
Funny thing was........................
There was a copper in front of my M8 and another following the van as he had been driving like a prat for the past 5 miles and they decided to pull him over just after the lights to find out if he was on something.
The driver of the van is now up in court for "Reckless Driving, Driving without due care and attention, 2 bald tyres, cracked windscreen........& about 5 or 6 other offences.
Talk about justice being done, I think they have dropped the filling cabinet on him let alone thrown the book at him

On leaving the parkway in the right-hand lane to go straight across the roundabout to exit onto Ashburton Road East. On approach near to Tennax road exit, at this time I was indicating to leave at the next junction. An articulated lorry was leaving the Tennax road junction so I applied my brakes to slow down and let the lorry pass, on leaving the roundabout onto ashburton road east. I entered this road (dual carriageway) in the right-hand lane as there was a white Renault van at the side of me, the van suddenly veered towards me which scared me as he was far too close. He moved away next thing in the corner of my eye he was coming towards me again, he was now level with me he glared at me then rammed his van into the side of my vehicle. At this point I was horrified at what he’d done and sounded my horn. I was then in front of him as he had braked. I indicated to pull over, hoping that he would, hoping he would explain his actions & obtain insurance details. He accelerated away at speed; I followed him he then started braking hard in front of me so I backed off.
I phoned 999 on my hands free car kit & alerted the emergency services & was then put through to the police control room I advised them that I had just been hit by a driver who tried to ram me off the road and had refused to stop after an accident.
I kept within the speed limit to catch up to him as he was now being held back by stationary traffic to obtain his registration for the police.
He was driving in an erratic manner which was very dangerous, he was weaving in &out of moving traffic to get as far away from me as possible he then doubled back at the next roundabout which I followed he then came to a junction controlled by traffic lights he ignored the red light and drove through them. at this point I stopped as I had given registration info to the controller also van description and the details of the driver. The driver was around 50 white in appearance and had a beard & moustache of which was grey in colour.

This accident has left me in shock I had not cut him up or upset him in any way.
God knows why he decided to do what he did, was he having a bad day or drunk?
Why didn’t he stop? He was in a hurry to get away for some reason. No license, insurance, stolen vehicle, drunk, banned I do not know.

He deliberately rammed me for some reason. His driving was both erratic & dangerous.
He failed to stop after an accident. He failed to stop at a red light. He intentionally went to harm me (he glared at me as he rammed my vehicle)

I have written a fair few, used to be a motorcycle instructor, and have been complimented by the boys in blue for the way that I can write them. It's only a suggestion but try this...

I was driving along the {road number} heading {east/west whatever} at x mph. The road conditions were dry and visibilty was good.

I approached the exit to The Parkway, and reduced my speed appropriately. I positioned my vehicle, a {Blue} Toyota Hilux Surf registration number {AAAA BBB} in the right hand lane as I intended to leave the roundabout at the {second} exit via Ashburton Road East.

On my approach to the Tennax road exit I selected my left indicator to leave at the next junction. An articulated lorry was entering the roundabout ahead of me from theTennax road junction. I applied my brakes to adjust my speed appropriately and let the lorry enter the roundabout safely.

I then exited the roundabout by turning left onto Ashburton Road East using the right hand lane of the dual carriageway. This was necessary as there was a white Renault van in the lane to my left. I was keeping the van under observation using a combination of direct sight and my rear view mirrors.

I observed the van moving towards my vehicle without warning or indication. The van then appeared to move away from my vehicle, but then moved back towards my vehicle on a clear collision course. I did not alter my direction of travel during this manouvre as there was no room to do so safely. I clearly observed that the driver of the vehicle was a caucasian male of approximately 50 years of age, with a beard and moustache.

The van drew alongside my vehicle and swerved to the right, at which point a collision occured. I activated a horn warning on my own vehicle. The van then reduced speed and I was positioned ahead of it. I indicated to pull over and stop in order that we could exchange driver and insurance details.

The van did not stop and accelerated away. I therefore took up pursuit maintaining a safe distance and speed. The van constantly reduced speed and weaved around in the road ahead of me. I observed repeated illumination of the rear red brake warning lights and therefore decided that in the interests of public safety that I should terminate the pursuit.

I phoned 999 on my hands free car kit & alerted the emergency services and was put through to the police control room. I advised them that I had just been hit by a driver who tried to ram me off the road and had refused to stop after an accident.

I then resumed the pursuit, again maintaining a safe speed and distance. The van was now stationary in static traffic, and I was able to observe the vehicle registration details. I relayed the details to the police.

I then observed the van conducting a series of manouvres that appeared to be erratic and unnecessary. The van then used the next roundabout to conduct a U-turn. I continued to pursue the van, however I witnessed the driver proceed through a red traffic signal and at this point terminated the pursuit entirely.

I then parked my vehicle and awaited the arrival of the police in order that I could relay details of the incident to them.


....and that's about it. This way, if it ever goes to court there is no way that his defence barrister can argue that you were taking reprisal action, driving dangerously, or that you had antagonised his client. You also ensure that you are not lined up for a weirdo offence by admitting that you were driving like a demented lunatic. If the roads were dry and visibility was good then it also takes away his defence that he skidded or couldn't see you...and believe me he will try!

It's no problem. I just happen to have been on the scene of more accidents than I care to remember, both cars and bikes, and some minor, and some tragic.

I have also seen what barristers and insurance companies can do to an innocently worded statement.

I hope that you get this lunatic off the road, I never cease to be amazed at what some people get up to when travelling along a stretch of tarmacadam in a horseless carriage. What is going through their minds is anyone's guess.

UPDATE this incident that happened on 5th December has only just been assigned to an officer, ****** JOKE!. if i'd have rammed someone off the road i would have had a visit by the police the same night.
My company wont back me up even though it happened in company time & a threat to life was made against me ****** AMERICANS.
enough of a rant for now, i will keep you updated as to what happens next

Latest news on this was having spoke to the police a couple of months ago this prat said he could not recolect the incident. I went spare at the police officer investigating as she informed me that this was now the end of the issue, and the accused had had a warning.
anyway today i get a call from a male police officer who has carried on this case for some reason he has spoken & taped this nutter who now recolects some of the events except the collision & driving like a madman. he has stated while under a recorded interview that he was lost & was turning left then right looking for a builders merchants( racing through red lights with me in pursuit) I have said i will go to court if need be as people like this need removing from the road. the officer is dragging him back in for more questioning, he has told me that he will trip him up. THE SYTEM IS USELESS & I WANT JUSTICE.
