mine always seems better if i work it out roughly in my head!...

like it's £7 to go to work and back
dunno how many litres it is, or how far it is!

use the escort at the moment cos it's only £5!
but in reality i usually put £60 a week in the surf and £40 in the escort!

When your talking mpg what do you get to a full tank?? mine cost about £52.00 to fill and I get between 270 and 290 per fill. What that mpg wise? Ps I'm daft

O K ....easy way...just cos your daft!
go in garage when low on fuel
get someone to write down speedo reading
fill to brim
go drive till it gets low - but dont run out of fuel
go in garage again - doesnt have to be the same one
get someone to write down speedo reading
fill to brim
get someone to write down how many litres you put in
or
get receipt and look at it (or get someone to read it to you)
put post on forum with first speedo reading - second speedo reading and whether your speedo is miles or kilometers + number of litres
nice people on forum will work out for you - litres per kilometers and possibly miles per gallon
wont make your consumption any better, but at least you will then know that
a) surfs are juicy
b) surfs are not GTI's
c) your motor is nackered/or not
d) whether your right foot is too heavy
e) if you are realy worried about fuel use - you have probably bought the wrong motor

I'm getting about 24mpg but who cares its better than the Skyline, looses the back end just as happily and can get me fishing with all my gear in. In short their thirsty and more fun than they should be
