  • Turbo care

I used to thrash the boobies off my saab and would always leave her ticking over for a while when I got to wherever I was going.

With the surf I do not thrash her anywhere as there is no point. In fact, i often pootle about at just under 2K revs when poss to keep the green light off.

Is the surfs turbo as sensitive to overheating if switched off right after the journey as the garret units fitted to saabs were?

    I don't have a turbo timer.

The way you're treating it, it's safe to switch off straight away.
Normal city driving isn't fast enough to warrant a turbo timer anyway. It's only after constant high speed / sustained high revving that the turbo needs to spool down.

thought that would be the case. Just nice to have it confirmed.
