      The proposal is this,
      1. A sponsored green lane run in and around the devon and cornwall border area.
      2. The funds raised will go to The North Devon Hospice for Terminally ill Children.
      3. An evening BBQ and entertainment will be laid on (possibly small charge, but no more than a tenner) at The Coach House, Lewdown
      4. This site is owned and operated by the comedian 'Jethro', who is a personal friend of mine, and owns a Hilux and a Landcruiser.
      5. Local TV will be asked to cover this event, so we can paint 4x4 owners in a better light.
      6. The day will be organised as a 'Hilux Owners' event, but we should encourage as many 4x4 owners to take part as possible.

What I need to know from you guys is numbers, who is actually interested in doing this, how many ? Obviously this is at a planning stage only, though Jethro is 'on board' already.
For anyone's interest, my credentials are as follows.
Senior events manager for a national motorcycle organisation, the last event managed by myself, which ran over 3 days, pulled in 235,000 people at Mallory Park in Leicester.

If anyone wishes to help with any aspect of this propossed event please phone me on 07854 316389, I'm Chris for those who did not know.
PS: with held numbers will not be answered.
count me in let me know about times and date!

            UPDATE.
Ok we have some of you interested, and as it has been pointed out, greenlaning with large numbers of vehicles can be a logistical nightmare. Where we are we get very little opposition to green laning, but we can come un stuck if we run a convoy greater than 12 vehicles.
            I dont want 12 vehicles, I want hundreds !
The showroom at The Coach House holds 500 people, so lets fill it eh ?
Now for the good news, I am awaiting a phone call from an owner of a "Offroad Site", to confirm that we have free use of their site....... YES you read that right .... FREE.
This will save us a whole heap of problems green laning.
Who needs speed, People will always wait for me !

Go for it Richard, we will be billing this event as a "Hilux Owners" event, but I have never discriminated 4x4's, the site is owned and run by some Range Rover owners......... we just need numbers, bums on seats you might say.

The better half and I are definitely interested. Need to know dates as soon as possible, work etc. Also putting my surf back on the road in January but thinking of delays. Free off-road site sounds good!!!

How about a combination of events tied around the central show...

Most can 'free' access the off road site... with a show area for those that don't want to... and raffle the places on the PROW's, raising funds for local/favourite charity... get better coverage that way... lots of 4x4's behaving in a sensitive manner... all over the place...

Apologies, grandmother and egg sucking... idea just popped into my head the other day, and wanted to mention it...
