  • Snorkel for a 94 3.0 SSRX

One of my ladyfriends is buying me a snorkel for xmas, I rang scorpion after searching the forum and I was told they only do a snorkel for a 2.8 surf. Is he mistaken or has the Northern Irish language barrier struck again??

are they worth fitting? (scared incase i suck water up going thru puddles know 3 people who have done diesel engines in this way).

    Anyone any experience??

Gamedawn has a snorkel and a few other are fitting.....Im confused on this one also. From the Safari site

    Date................Engine Desc................Capacity.. ...Fuel..Side.......Model

    12/1997 onwards.....5L............................ .......3.0 litre..........D.......LHS.........SS145HF
    10/1999 onwards.....5L turbo SR5 trim.............3.0 litre..........D.......LHS.........SS143HF
    1989 to 1997...........3L............................ .......2.8 litre..........D.......LHS.........SS106HF

    http://www.safari4x4.com.au/docs/snorkel/toyota.html
Please note: all model fitments are verified to suit right hand drive Australian specification vehicle releases. Dates refer to Australian vehicle release dates. Variations in engine size and air filter housing specifications may apply in other markets. If in doubt as to product suitability please forward a photograph of engine bay and body at ¾ frontal position.

The items dont appear to come in through the wing near the air filter casing. Would presume the closest would be the SS106HF

Other model is Prado 90 series...but thats for the intercooled engine..might be worth enquiring

    Date................Engine Desc................Capacity.. ...Fuel..Side.......Model
    1996 - 12/2002.......1KZ-TE turbo intercooled....3.0 litre..........D.......LHS.........SS180HF

for water yeh they are great. originally they were developed in Australia to raise the intake above the dust. Here we dont get the same dust so only really good for water.
Got 1 on my xmas list too. lol
I believe that for the 4Runner/surf 3.0 kzn130 the Safari Snorkel (ref no SS106HF) fits.
I recall some one on here had 1 fitted. may be do a search for snorkles.

see my post in the mods section.

            just had one fitted yesterday.

it is the ss106hf that you need. that fits a 2nd gen ln130, 2.4 & 3.0 with no probs.
