Coming home from work this morning and a Jeep Cherokee pulled up beside me and started gunning his engine, I looked over and he was doing that tense crouched over the steering wheel thing.
Having just came off a night shift, half asleep and being the mature well adjusted person that I am, I lit up a fag, laid back in my seat, hung one arm out the window...
.........and floored it when the lights changed leaving him for dead........he looked very sheepish at the next set of lights
When I grow up I want to be..........

That happened to me the other day. White van man revving the ti*s off his van next to me at a set of lights where the two lanes goes into one straight after the lights. I didn't floor it as it would have spun up as the road was damp, but I beat him no problems. I then continued on my way, 5mph below the speed limit.

Don't you just hate it when that happens, I'm a bit of a mellow motorist but have engaged in the odd traffic light GP. I used to win all the time when I had the V6.

I once raced a chav in a 1.4 escort off the lights, I was in a 17 tonne 3 series Scania truck, he stalled , I won !! what a numpty.

Our series 3 Scania tips the scales at 14.5 T with a 250 Hp motor
You're quite right though they can shift if you press the loud pedal hard.
