  • Tow Pole - Anyone used one

Hello , Ive run out of money and cant afford to purchase a tow bar to pick up my zook on saturday . So has anyone used a tow pole ever ?

I dont seem to have a towing eye to affix it to , will it fit on the chassis or will the bumper get in the way , or is that too far underneath the car to work ?

    HELP !

    you need a towing eye.

um, mine's bolted to the end of the chassis rail, so not sure where yours has gone!... have you got any on the front?... they might fit the back?

    or just use a rope!

pole works exactly the same, just doesn't go slack
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

Yeah there is one on the front , I will have a look , see if I can swap it , Didn't want to use a rope incase the brakes are shagged and it runs into the back of me !

not sure if a pole would do much to stop you if no brakes...

I have a homebrew A-frame made out of an old caravan draw bar. I can't vouch for the welding (cos it was an early project) but I have towed my 410 to Devils Pit and back a couple of times with it. It bolts onto the front bumper mounting holes at the front of the chassis, so you would need to take the front bumper off the Zook to be towed.
You are welcome to come over to Luton and pick it up.
          It's only a hobby!

            tow poles

Yes great things but if brakes are?? ?? then make sure that the pole stays straight or you will give the guy at the other end...a great heart attack as he / she dives thru the hedge or the car in the other lane.. have used one a couple of times for the daughter and alls been well..but no conections at the rear of Surf... had to use me other vehicle...the idea of fixing to an old tow bar hitch is in my mind as will get to making one this winter!!![keep surfing]
