  • Tax Disc

Just had my V11 form reminding me that I need to make my yearly donation of £170 for 12 months road tax.
On the form it says you can apply online at
    www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc
    This is wonderfull I thought.
So I entered all the details, as requested and was informed that this only works with the new MOT stickyfoots.
These are larger than the old ones and printed rather than hand written by your doctor.
And guess what, I dont have a new one!
    A current one, yes.
So I still have to go to the local post office, in the next town and cue up with all the old biddies who want to buy a stamp.
How much will this new streamline service end up costing us all?

Going to look on EBay and see if I can get one from there!

I have never got the online tax renewel to work or heard of anyone else getting it to work. I allways use a mainstream dealer to MOT my surf and my wifes mo**eo and every time I get a reply saying there is no record of the MOT????

i registered SORN online... but the tax application won't work unless you have the computerised MOT slip.

Does he have to see the car, or can you get an MOT done over the internet now?
                They can ask things like,
Are all the cv joint boots in good order?
                And I would reply,
Yes they are fine, infact it has a job interview next week!

A lot less bother than all that poking and prodding underneath!

Wonder if he could do me one for my Shogie?
It only needs a little work to make it road leagle.
                    Lights
                    Bodywork
                    Mirrors
and a tiny bit of welding where the rocks pulled some bits off.
I can have all that done by lunch.
Can I have my stickyfoot now please?
