    Ebay discussion......

How long to you wait before laying the smack down on a seller???

I won an auction on 9th, paid straight away by paypal, e-mailed them again on the 14th because I'd no contact from them, still no reply to the last e-mail as of today.

What do you think? I want to give them to next week in case of holidays etc.

I would say - wait til Tuesday then go in heavy - that should cover any holidays they might be on.

What's their feedback like ? any nasties there ?

you as well, ordered and paid for something on the 26th August, postage 7-10 days (from Germany) and still waiting. Thing is they answer all my mails but make excuses each time like my address was wrong (3 times). Then they sent me a link to the shipping companys web site with my tracking number. Yep you guessed it web all in German, luckily mates wife is German and she was going to look at it last night for me. So should find out today if its genuine, thing is seller had 99% good feedback.

I'd send another email, say your concerned that despite paying immediatey, and emailing you have heard nothing from him. You dont want to have to take this further as he may have a genuine reason bla bla bla.

Some people only log on weekends, he may be away, his daughter's hubbie may have blown 2 fingers off his hand with a smoke bomb....

If you dont get a reply by Sunday - report him!!!

this has happened to me several times but so far they all have been resolved without getting heavy
it seems some sellers don't believe in good communications I'm having a prob at the moment bought some car cleaning gear part of the sales spiel was fast (1-2 days delivery) no show so far and no reply to 3 emails 5 days and counting
however the ace in your pack is having paid by paypal they will chase it for you
go into your paypal account and there guides about resolution here is there brief overview:-

                  PayPal Buyer Protection

£500.00 GBP purchase protection at no additional cost.

                  "PayPal Buyer Protection covers:
An eBay item that you paid for but never received
An eBay item that is significantly different than what was described in the listing
                  Guidelines:
You must send payment to the PayPal account associated with the eBay listing
                  You purchased a tangible item
Your claim must be filed within 45 days of payment
You may only file one claim per PayPal payment
You are limited to three PayPal Buyer Protection refunds per calendar year"

if you also used your credit card for payment check its protection policy most offer it to encourage internet purchases

as I say though I have yet to resort either method as the majority are genuine errors or poor buisness practice when communicating with a buyer
understandable really a lot of sellers aren't professionals and are youngsters and / or part time / novice entrepenuers!
being nosey can you tell us what you bought and if possible alink to this guys ebay ad
                  Good Luck

                    Me too!

Bought a mini touch screen pc monitor from a supplier that claimed specifically to ship from UK. 2-10 days delivery. That was 25th August but it's now 17th September and no goods as yet.

Emailed them and got a broken (Chinese?/English) response saying that goods held up by customs and that this had never happened before!!!

They offered a refund or a promise that the goods would be here today, as I am off to France tomorrow and needed it for my laptop GPS. I took the promise and the damned thing hasn't turned up.

Sent them another email today but I won't be able to chase it up again for another 2 weeks. I am peeved!!

I'm having the same problem with a buyer at the moment, item sold on the 8th,I allow 5 days for payment from close of auction, still not a dickie bird,I have invoiced the buyer twice and emailed her twice.I don't know whether to report her or give it another week,I don't like giving neg feedback either, may have to make an exception in this case.

I've had lots of problems with people buying stuff from me using Buy It Now. I only deal with paypal or cheque and only post to UK.
I then get an email saying they want to pay by bidpay or escrow??? and I have to ship to Nigeria or Singapore when I clearly state UK Only.
Ebay have advised me there are a lot of people trying to scam others using fake Escrow accounts etc. Just P***es you right off.
Oh and they allways have 0 feedback and are newly registered !!!!

                            No Feedback

I often look at ebay to see whats going down but have never bought anything, never sold anything and never bothered my a**e to register and probably never will. I want to know who all these people are who start off with loads of feedback all of it positive as it seems to me that you need that to buy or sell anything. No feedback equals pariah, how dare an outsider with no feedback try to get in. I find that buying stuff from shops, retail outlets , auction houses, small ads and places like that works really well as you can do that without having ever spent a penny previously, they dont give a stuff as to what other people think of you. I can understand why ebay transactions can be difficult and I know that fingers do get burned and can therefore understand all the suspicion that is created. Meantime I,ll just steer clear of it.
