Thanks guys....and gals
I then made up a "table" out of small box steel with an mdf top. Fixed the cage to the table & I still have plenty of room underneath in the boot for bits & pieces (2 portable dog pens, 2 deckchairs, 2 picnic tables and some dog beds). My cage is split into two and takes two cockers in one and a westies in the small part, which on retrospect I wish I had made a bit larger. If anyone is interested I can give you all the measurements, the bloke at hamsterbaskets will have the dimensions of the cage although I would reccomend having the door a bit shorter than mine cos it just catches the top of the hatch as it is opened. Now the dogs are safely in the car even if a door comes open (or as they have done in the past trod and a window switch and opened the window). In the event of a rear end shunt that jams the door there is an escape hatch at the front so just drop the rear seat and let them out of that.Parts of your engine go up, stop then go back! Mm!

When we first had our dog Harry, 18mths old, he went missing a couple of times due to having been taught to jump higher than we ever imagined (!!). He usually goes to find other dogs....or a little lady.. usually never far either, he MIGHT be closer than you think.Last edited by BUSHWHACKER; 13 September 2005, 19:33.

Hope they are returned safe and well
It's hell when this sort of thing happens. I really hope that you find them. It's bad enough having two Bengal kittens that can jump a fencing panel and refuse to come when they are called. They only have to jump over to next door and we are having kittens ourselves!
All the best
