  • Big problem in Italy.

Driving down here, car started playing up. The light on rev counter, with gearbox outline was comming on and engine sounded as though air was getting in. To cut long story short, discovered that the two screws holding accelorator/throttle linkage, in engine had come of. Have now had screwed back in, but mecanic said that computer needs to be reset, as so much air was going in compaired to diesel. Tried to fix by disconnecting batteries for a while, but didnt work. Tomorrow going to Toyota garage, but sure they dont know Surf very well. Any help in what i should say etc would be very gratefully received. When linkage came undone, car still went but of course as cable was loose didnt get anywhere fast and although cable fixed light still comes on( next to engine diagram) when accelorating, although will go of on cruising. All oils etc fine.
Thanks a million in advance, as have 900 miles to travel back on Wednesday.

Make sure the airflow sensor is pluged in on the rubber tube coming from the airfilter box.
