  • Help Identifying Something

    Hi all,

I have a small silver box under the driver’s seat about the size of two cigarette packets. There's a long thin cable that looks like an aerial coming from it, as well as some power cables going into it from under the carpet.

Am I right in thinking this is some sort of vehicle tracking device?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

whatever you do don't cut the wires - just yank it out with brute strength - or mebbe not!

Seriously I cant help there - unless it's the speed sensing device for the flux capacitor. - Sumo is the one to ask about that. if tou can get a pic of it - so much the better.

Ah, that might be it! Maybe I'll unplug it and check if the C/L still works.
Only thing is though, i had a new Cat 1 alarm fitted when I got the surf, and this box looks like it's been there since day 1.

I guess the new alarm may have been linked to it...

why would you need a tracking device if you already know it's under the seat?

The true definition of engineering !!!
I spent 10 years taking apart perfectly servicable aeroplanes for that reason, whats wrong with the old "It flew in....it can fly out???"
