2nd or 3rd gen torsion front end

Just joined so hi to you all!

I will be importing a surf soon, just trying to work out what year to get?

Like the 2nd gen but not too sure as I think they are torsion bar front ends.
Does anyone know or has a link where I can find out what year/specs etc etc?

2nd gen 89-95, torsion bar front suspension

3rd gen 96-sometime, coilsprung front suspension

Very basicly,

2nd Gen 89-95, Part time 4WD, torsion bar front, coil rear, 2.4TD, 3.0TD or 3.0 V6 petrol.

3rd Gen 96-00ish, Multi mode 4WD (AWD or part time) Macpherson strut front, coil rear, 2.7 I4 or 3.4 V6 petrol, 3.0TD or 3.0TD Intercooled.

Model specs mean very little, SSR-G Limited with Recaro interier should be top spec, but you'll find the base models have as many goodies as top spec as most of the options are available on every car and the Jap's seem to go nuts with the dealer options when buying a new car.

Wasn't too sure.
Never really been too keen on torsion front end, but will probably go for 2nd Gen as I can get more for my buck.Seems to be a big jump in price from 2nd to 3rd gen.
Can always crank the torsions and flip the ball joints for extra lift at the front.

Anyone got any good 2nd gen mods?
