  • Thinking of removing decals

I am considering removing the 'Surf' decals from the side of my motor but a mate who is a sprayer of many years advised against it, he reckons that very often the adhesive used on the decals reacts with the laquer beneath causing it to 'sink' slightly and so leaving a witness mark which would be very difficult to polish out and unkess I was willing to respray the panels then to leave them on.
What did those of you who removed yours find.
