just look at all the money he'll get from the congestion charge! (reminds me of the mayor of Springfield in the Simpsons - loads of extra 'taxes' to come).

I can't see how this will benefit the rest of the population (which is what it's meant to do).

they'll have to get public transport running on time - and stay running lol - be interesting to see how this develops.

                That's why I haven't had the cheque!

                PS
If you hadn't drained your garden Chillitt they could have held the sailing there. Think of all the potential profit!

                Ken (not Livingstone)

Oh-no another increase in Taxes to pay for it all, and I'm not even a sports fan.......

The only plus point I can think of is we beat the French!!

and the benefits to us outside london is not having to sit up half the night to find out we didnt win something...

Looks like those of us not in London can kiss goodbye to any investment in our infrastructure now.

The great divide will be wider still between north & south. Masses of investments and jobs in an already crowded market!

Not that I'm biased you understand.

                          Deep joy...
                          expect increases of:

                          Taxes,
                          Congestion charges again,
                          Bus fares,
                          Rail fares,
                          Plane fares,
                          Fuel fares,
                          etc etc

I think I'll go to France when its on.

I think its good. I'm gonna go bid on a burger van on e-bay!

Seriously, our friend made banners for 'back the bid', I made the metal bases that hold the poles. He told us at the time if we win the bid, don't book any work in for about 3 months and buy loads of metal and a powder coating factory, we're gonna be busy!

That aside, its great, the rest of the world still thinks the UK can still organise something. Hope we prove them right.
