3 weeks and ...

Someone has hit the 4Runner and I ain't happy !
I got a phone call at 5.15am from my neighbour to say the Runner has been hit . I went down and sure enough the Runner is half in road and half on pavement . First thing the other driver says is ''no damage to your car'' . WRONG !! New rear bumper and osr corner section required plus repair to rear panel . The Mondeo is a write off . I will post pictures once I have calmed down and removed his teeth from my knucles .

Edit : now found out why not much body damage . Tow bar taken the impact at an angle . The nsr 1/4 window in fibreglass top has popped open .

Pretend it was done off road and it will impart "character" . Still, at least you know who did it - last time it happened to me it was a stolen car and the bas***ds scarpered before I could get there.

Thing is Roger , those bumpers were new or rechromed not long ago by the looks of things . Turns out the 'driver' is 2 streets away from me and his wife was driving . Funny how she was not there and he was in his pyjamas and his daughter was fully clothed . I suspect she was driving uninsured . I think mine will be a total loss due to parts costs . Will try a cash settlement off his insurance or I will lose the Runner .

Nah, only joking! You'll be OK, they are tough old trucks, takes a lot to bend the frame, as long as you don't lose the truck you'll be able to sort it out.

I will phone one of my mates from my old company (Cornhill) and do a full check on them , ie Insurance co , etc .

I know a man who'd be interested in nearly all the body work.....

But the thought of a Mondeo killing a Surf, a first gen at that, its just not right, the insurance company has a moral duty to insure that a Mondeo cant claim that prize. It'd be like saying a Squirrel could have an Elephant.
On that logic theres no way they can write it off.

Oh Rick what a bugga to put it mildly.......I hope it can be sorted out,now I feel guilty about nicking the rollbar (sort of anyway) If help is needed give us a ring.Only thing you cant have is anything off my surf,but I got a spare sledehammer handle.
