What a disgrace the trouble in Edinburgh was yesterday - Sir Bob has a lot to answer for.

I don`t think they were as bad as some have made out. There were loads of tourists just standing watching it, taking pictures

I`ll be in thw wrong place tommorrow as I`m only 2 miles from Gleneagles. The big demo is on in Aucherarder, which is just across the road from us, so we should see some action.

I`ve seen literally millions of police today, they are just everywhere.

I got to see two cool helicopter gunships as well. The flew just over me at about 40 feet, quite a sight.

Better get your tin hat on!!! Saw Auchterarder on the news, looks like a lot of folk are boarding up and leaving town. Hope it's not too bad.

It wasn't exactly a great place to be yesterday. I felt sorry for those tourists etc. who got caught in it.

Commute times home where bad with roads closed etc.

We live in a democracy & everyone has a right to their point of view, but it should be peaceful and not break the law.

I live 10 minutes from Police HQ in Edinburgh and they have had roads sealed off arounfd the place for 5 days!

I don't think you can blame Bob, apparantly all was ok there until yesterday when some 'agitators' arrived - this happens at all demo's unfortunately.

It gets the real protestors a bad name.

              being a buffoon!

what percentage of people watching live8 really gave much thought to poverty?

everything he's done seems to be jump in feet first without proper planning!...

yeah, he's raised awareness, but do ou really think it will make a difference?

I don't think you can blame Bob Geldof because a bunch of, "professional trouble causers," have turned up to hi-jack the protest. They would have been at the G8 summit, Live8 or not.

Unfortunately there is a core of unwashed persons (dress code: white people with dreadlocks, ancient wax jackets, tattoos, face piercings, combat trousers) who make it their full time business to cause aggro at any kind of protest.

Zero tolerence for those who cause violence or damage property.

Looks like I`ll get searched tommorrrow as they are stop searching every car leaving Perth towards Glasgow on the A9

We had police advisors in at our work earlier this week telling us what to do if we are attacked or even kidnapped

He then gave us about 40 different phone numbers for different senarios. We don`t expect too much trouble here as its Anti-Capitalists that are causing trouble in Edinburgh and to a lesser extent Stirling. The area around Gleneagles is mostly farming or family buisinesses, so they won`t have much of a problem with that.

Auchterarder is mostly boarded up now anyway. It was closed for two hours today after a bomb scare at the bank but apart from that they can`t do much harm there.

I was also told the two helicopters I saw were Apache attack helicopters.
