Hi Folks,

Does anyone know where I can find a starter for a 3.0td, tried the place at Matlock but 6 week wait. Dont think mine will hold out that long, at times it just clicks then it will turn really slow.

have you tested the battery to check it's cranking hard enough?... takes a lot to turn a diesel

Could also be your motor brushes. A rebuild kit from Toyota main dealer is approx £17.00 if I remember rightly. Try doing a search on rebuilding 3.0 starter motor.

Had my starter re-built last year by a chap in Nottingham.
cost £50.
Must have been a good job as he even painted it when he had done.

but seriously, he did a good job and it hasn't let me down since.

Could just be the contacts.....several discussions on the forum about replacing them..[Fieldsy, Myself etc..]...look on the Sticky Thread for the part numbers and costs

get the parts from toyota it take aboat a hour to fit them there aboat £33 look on the machanical section for part numbers
