    Hu Yall
Had this dent in rear bumper for a while.

    http://www.yotasurf.co.uk/forums/att...id=12358&stc=1

Got a day off tomorrow, so might have a go.

    Now the questions.

    1) Bumper easy to remove or not? had a little look underneath, doesn't seem to be too many bolts in hard to reach places.

    2) Is the bumper in sections?..cos that's what it looks like, can the side portion be taken off with out too much hassle?

Would appreciate any comments/ suggestions (Nice ones now!)

    Darren

Note to self: Hope I've added the picture correctly...or could look a bit silly

Yea side sections need to come off first, bolts are fairly straight forward.

only real thing i found is when taking the centre section off take it off with the brackets on. ie unbolt the brackets from the body not the bumper. hope that makes sense.

not as complex as it looks on the pics. the mud guards stay on the side bits and some of the brackets stay attached to the car.

hehe then throw it away and make one of these.

My best advice is to soak every screw and nut/bolt you even think about spannering with duck oil HOURS before you shear them like I did.

Much bad language drilling out and re-tapping, but shiny new rear quarter bumpers......eventualy
Ok nicely done, when we dry off we can go find the boat!

Thanks guys, gonna give it a go tomorrow.

Good advice about the potential of shearing the screws off.

Thanks for the diagram Greebo, I'll add it to the many I have collected on the Surf over the months.

Does that link not work for the piccy then...

While you have the rear bumber off you might want to paint the inside of it.

This will protect it a bit longer as they tend to rust. Its a must if you are intending to go off roading a lot.

            cheers
