Looking back over the last 3 months or so it seems that a lot of 2.4 surf owners have had a lot of problems with their cyl heads,is it poss for someone to post info on new mod cyl heads so importers, car dealers and buyers can save themself a lot of time and money.Just lift the bonnet and look at some numbers or somthing. Its a great car but breaking hearts and banks.

    Flyingspanner.

Problem is that you can't just tell by looking at it as the modifications are all internal. Only true way is to match up the casting number on the head with the block casting number if you can find it - if they are different then the head's been replaced. However that doesn't neccessarily mean that it has been replaced with a new type head, just a different one from originally fitted - i.e it's not a matching numbers engine.

    Cheers
