What happened about building your own body lift kits? I am very interested in doing my own body lift, and after reading recent threads, I just wondered if making up kits had come about - need a new project

Kiwi- seems to be a slow project! I only got round to installing my bodylift a few weeks back so I'm still in the process of evaluating it- but it seems to be okay. I've asked our engineering shop for quotes on the blocks but they've been a bit slow getting back to me....

Alternativley you could get most of the kit from Roger Brown at www.4Crawler.com the prices are quite reasonable. For a standard automatic Surf and 2" body lift all you need is the blocks, bumper brackets & rad brackets. The steering joint can be spaced out with washers and there's no need for any mods to the transmision levers (my Hi-Lo lever is more difficult to select but more on that in another thread) . Source the long bolts in the UK to save shipping on weight.

I got hold of some polyethylene rollers from a conveyer belt type thingy. The centre hole is exactly the right diameter and I reckon I can cut them straight with the mitre saw. They shouldn't donut because I have put an offcut in a press and couldn't squash or split it. It's another job to do when I get a round tuit!

What's the outer diameter of the said parts?

I haven't measured them properly but they are about 2" dia. I was originally going to use them to wind coils on for an aerial project.
