  • Luckiest Man Alive (me or him??)

I was working late last night in Portsmouth. making my way home to Bucks afterwards, i hit a pedestrian on the A3. i managed to swerve just before impact and he clipped the bull bar, wing indicator and wing mirror which came through the front passenger window and ended up behind me on the back seat.

the guy was drunk (wandering at 0300 you'd have to be).

anyway, now i need a mirror and window (and a fresh pair of trunks).

    ps who said :-

So while 4.5% of pedestrians struck by a car died, the figure rose to 7.8% when they were hit by a small SUV, and 11.5% when hit by a large one. “Pedestrians struck by large SUVs are twice as likely to die as pedestrians struck by cars,”

      Did u know...

...that most people's home contents insurance has a section that covers incidents of this nature.

A few years ago my son rode a friend's bike into a jag that was doing about 30. Thankfully he did more damage to the Jag than was done to him (only bruising).

But the bloke ended up making a claim against our household contents policy. Got over a grand for the damage done!

      Just a thought.

i just found a cut in my ear and my hair is still producing pieces of glass.....

Drunks wandering around are a hazard.I hit one once after he thought he could make it across the road before I got there. He was wrong.I managed to wave down a cop who was passing and explained what happened. The drunk guy kept saying I tried to kill him.The cop just laughed and put him in the back of his car and drove him home. That was years ago and I never heard another thing about it.

years ago a few of my mates were crossing the road on their bikes and motorbike thought they were gonna walk in front, he swerved, hit a car, got paralised... sued 12 year olds parents for 1.2 million... got awarded 1million off their home insurance... some thing to do with the other 200,000 being awarded from other money somewhere that i'm not sure about, but it meant that mate couldn't work other than cash in hand cos he has to pay it.
