I have a full width Blue light bar for medic work and I just run the cable through the drivers door - It's a bit thick so it occasionally lets a dribble of water in but I only keep it on the truck when I'm working. I have been looking at doing a "through the body" fit.

You obviously have not green laned when the advantage of high level lighting gives you a better chance of seeing potential obstacles in low light
