For all those who offroad

I've had an overheating prob for 6 months now. I know what it it is.............

Spent an hour, yes 1 whole hour washing out the radiator which was full of mud halfway up the rad. Seems that the ONLY way to solve this is to take out the rad completly.

Now maybe I can go over 65mph without putting the heater on full blast up hills!

Been there, had to do that. Funny thing is, it took me 6 months to be arsed to remove the rad too - I finally got fed up of 65mph up motorway hills!

Me too, had this problem a couple of time and like you say the only thing you can do is take the damn thing out and hose it down.


DO NOT PRESSURE WASH IT!

mine was fine all the way home till i gunned it up a hill on the M25... scared me
Also did it on a steep hill coming off the motorway at about 30! Needless to say I gave it a good clean the other day but I know theres still some in the bottom

Tim you'll be ok, for 6 months! Lol! What a total GIT it is to get the rad out of a surf with the underslung aircon rad. Note to self, but super long screwdrivers and learn how to be a contortionist to get round that poxy fan!

Now thanks to a buggered AC compressor, I'm now AC rad free and loads of space! It was banana shaped anyway. TONYYY Got a rad for sale? Hehehe

lol I had to wash it cos I was towing on weds. That rad is a pain!! and now its full of mud again... mine is a bit worse for wear and looks like a ploughed field anyway
Ive got no belt for the AC now anyway and we had to let the rest of the gas out to do the water pump.
My AC rad is mainly held on with zip ties now as the mounts keep breaking! DOH!
I will survive....

clearly you wouldn't have let the gas out of the a/c cos thats illegal, and bad for the enviroment, must have been a tryping errorrrr....

I got !!!!!! soaked! Think I may give up on my AC now. The rads bent, the fans are jammed with mud and the compressors got squeaky bearings. Oh and it took Tony nearly 2 hours to fit a new belt,sorry 2nd hand belt of a breaker, (alternator ones just dont fit eh Linda! hehe) just for me to cut it off, after all the squeaking.

Thats on top of, a electrical fault on me gearbox (the same one I had last time I did a big offroad day), leaking rear diff oil seal.......again. No rear brakes (full of mud), Shot steering idler. One sidelight which is full of mud, the other has a bad earth. Dry steering stops. No tax, and an MOT next month. Bent rear bumber thanks to hitting that lump in the carpark too fast! Oh AND I HAD THE LOWEST TRUCK OF ALL OF US LAST WEEKEND!!! <mutters> Need a lift kit.

lighter socket bust
Air horns bust (offroading was fine the washing killed em)
Suspension bushes knackered (new ones coming from specialist leisure via USA soon I hope)
Air con belt - NONE
Air con rad - Bashed
Air con compressor - No gas
Tax due this month

oh well, look on the bright side now it's broken you can have all the fun putting it back together so it wont happen again. I keep finding "don't need that bit bit's" on my truck but the wet dog smelling carpets have to stay for now

Been underneath to grease the prop's and change the diff oil after my swimming lesson on sunday but can't find the front filler/level to change that one. sure it will be fine!!!

Deb's goes to my mam's on sat night so might have to spend some time alone with the Haynes

Won't do any harm, when did you last change or check them?

Did mine cause the last time they were looked at a smaller man than me from a far away place was paid money to say they were fine!!! and when I can use the servicing bay in work it's so easy(thanks Mr Blair&Big Liz) well impressed that they had no water in though
