I've gone and done it.
The Surf is gone.... 
Unfortunately a change in my circumstances has resulted in me doing a much greater annual mileage so 22MPG was resulting in a £50 a week fuel bill.
Now running a peugoet 306 SW HDi (the 'posh' one with leather and climate control) and am getting almost 60MPG. Its a bit cack in the mud though!
I will miss the surf, but justifying that kind of fuel bill to the missus was impossible.
Plus point - Dog loves it as he can jump in the back with no worries.
Minus point - Little 'un is well annoyed at me for getting rid of his favourite mode of transport.
Oh well.....
