  • Out in muddy field of a different kind [Horses]

Well was asked to go and support the nieces today at one of the horse-shows...felt like brass monkey time! stood in the middle of the field with the feet being sodden because I forgot to put the boots on DOH..

Anyway, had a grin factor as they have two 1st place, two 2nd place and a third. Had to leave them to come home to get jobs done.

Went to a showing show 2 weeks ago and froze for 2 hours while the judge rode each horse individually and had to see each one trotted up too!!! could'nt wait for it to finish and i'm a horsey bloke!!! Show jumping far more interesting.

I've never been able to show this early as mine are always too hairy!! I could just about make Herts County at end of May with a somewhat presentable horse!!!

Showjumping...at least thats on timeing and gates being jumped and not the personal preference of the judges at times....you get to know who likes what [ie. Arabians, Cobs etc...Chestnuts, Greys ].

Turned up at one event one time to find out the judge and decided to go to another show.....found out everything was true. All top line up was bays and chestnuts with greys down at the bottom.

Yup - Kelsie once got 1st place in 2yr old small hunter at Essex County on Friday, and then in a local RC show on Sunday she was placed bottom of 15 in the same class as the judge said she wasnt the right "build". She looked a bit sick when we were coming out of the ring and my friend announced very loudly that it was such a shame that the winning hunter from Essex shd stand bottom of the line!!

Yep..its funny how this thing occurs...as stated above the Arabian Chestnut above won the Royal Lancs but went to a local event and came 3rd. Same horse came thrid in the class at Malvern but ended up Sixth at another show.

Khiana, the young arabian filly [not all grey above] came first at one of the shows being judged by a Dutch Judge but yet came 4th in the local.
