i done the same test with my mate on the last day out i had
it was equal tyres he had a discovery with shara muds
i had the same tyres on not the best tyre but still all mudds
i lost hands down
them discoverys are quite good at off roading
the surf was just too fat to get up some sloppy hills
the surf held its own tho
it was better in a few placers but at the end of the day
i did not have a clutch foot lol
and i was dry
he was wet
we put both cars through more than they were biult to handle
both drove home
has for the 4 difenders that went with us too
and did the same has us
2 blow both diffs
1 locked up its front wheel
the other was firing on 3 cilinders

Old thread but can't let this go I dragged a disco out of trouble twice on our last clog outting. He never had to return the favour.
Yes I did put it on its side later in the day but I was recovered by two surfs no green ovals required
