Can anyone help me to find out why my 4wd wont disengage on my 92 surf auto hubs

Easy for me to diagnose if I was there, but may take a while to explain. First up they are not Auto Hubs. These are rare and discontinued before your model. Locate the two VSVs that control the front 4WD actuator.. Driver side inner guard is usually where they are. One VSV locks the diff the other unlocks it. Remove the hose for each that goes to the front diff, one at a time and check for vacuum at the VSV while engine is running and using the button. One will have vacuum with the button in the other with button out. Let me know results.

A vacuum pump is a very handy thing to have sometimes.

You could try swapping the two hoses from the VSVs to see if it unlocks. If that works it could be a faulty VSV or power supply to that VSV. Could also be hose disconnected on 4WD actuator.
