Underbody Spare Wheel

Is there anyway of locking the spare wheel in place under a gen 2 Surf??

I'm thinking that it's quite accessible to undesirables, and don't wanna lose mine!!!!

My Surf is due to be delivered to me on Wednesday!! Yay!!!

The only way I can think of, is to padlock the chain that hangs down from the centre of the spare, to somewhere on the chassis!

You must have some technically minded "undesirables" over there.
I figure that as it is already a pig to get down with the correct tool i.e the Toyota winder then for someone to nick it they have got a job on thier hands!!
