  • surf & pajero kerb weights

Hi everyone, need your help in an argument im having.

    I have 2 surfs,a 2.4 and a 3.0

My friend has just brought a 2.8 lwb pajero on a 93 plate

Now we both tow a bit and on asking him why he not get a surf as he loves mine its because they are far too light to tow, according to him.Pajeros are a lot heavier.

So does anyone know the weight of a 3.0 93 surf and a 2.8 93 pajero.

Ill agree and say i think the mitsi will be a bit heavier, but i cant see it being much.

My 95 V6 4Runner was 2000kg exactly my latest 3rd Gen Surf is 1800kg however I have no idea of the weight of a Paj although even when obeying the 85% rule you are still talking aboug a bl!!dy big caravan.

according to the same site, 2.4td 4runner is 1750kg, so pajero's must be fatter, well they look all bloated and fat to me anyway.

I got different weights for Surfs everywhere I looked! But here's Toyota's own figures as scanned from the 1993 4Runner brochure.

The weight for the autobox version will slightly different to the manual transmission I don't know if it's more or less?

The best way to settle the 'best tow car' argument is to chain them both back-to-back and see which car can pull the other along backwards!!!

Don't blame me if you break anything though.
