Spent the last few days admiring my Toyota stereo which I'm sure you all know is the size of a microwave oven.
How easy is it for a novice to remove and replace with a decent CD/tuner?
I know you need a wiring harness and a plate/tray to fill gap but I'm a bit concerned about electrical side of things such as connecting it up and will electric aerial still work?

If you search the forum you will find this has been covered quite often.

There is an excellent guide to changing the stereo available at installdr for the 2nd Gen models, it is for a LHD US 4Runner but perfectly applicable to the Surf. Click here to view it. Wiring adapters to connect an ISO standard stereo to the Toyota loom are available from the forums very own shop here.

Blanking panels for the remaining gap can be found in any decent car srereo shop, and also Halfords.
