  • Scary MPG

Now I know that we don't drive the most ecenomical vehicle on the planet, but I have just worked out my first tankfull and it a rather disturbing 22.18mpg. Having just given up a golf TDI 130GT that gave 40mpg overall whether I was hammering it down the lanes, flying up the motorway (50mpg at 85-90mph by the way) or nose to tail city work I feel that my wallet is about to take a battering. Thankfully I can pass a lot of it on to clients. I have a trip to Manchester in the near future I shall bore you all with my motorway findings then.

well i had a peugeot 406 diesel estate before my surf a new one that returned about 60 to the gallon my surf wich is a 1996 3ltr returns about 650 ks per tank full but with 2 tons of metal automatic i dont think thats too bad better than a pajero i had that was horrifying but id rather pay a bit more and stay in surfdom lol if it becomes to much m8 you could allways get a sit on lawnmower bet there good on juice lol mark

Welcom to the wonderful world of HEAVY METAL

Go on, admit it....... its worth it !! I knicked the Surf off my other half and gave her my car, as it was more economical at 24mpg !!!!!!!!!
        I reckon I get 21mpg when I'm being gentle

I also get 26-30 from a 3.0td auto, brill for 2 tons of metal and all that power and comfort.

No I dont drive like a grandad, just criuse about 75-80 0n m/way aiming for 2500 revs. found it best to move up a gear and try to hold it there avoiding gear changes where poss.

Mind you still do £200 plus a week on fuel.

                  Amount paid ( 35 ) / av price ( .789 ) = 44 litres of fuel in tank
                  44 litres / 4.54 (conversion) = 9.69 Uk gallons
                  Milage (204 ) / gallons (9.69 ) = 21.05 Miles to the Gallon.

Don't fall his sob story, he's only paying 36p a liter for LPG. We're still putting 78ppl unleaded in our V6.

Damn, 36p is the cheapest I pay for mine around here. Where's that?
