*loody nhs bed shortages just received a phone call now from the hospital letting us know that there is no bed fore my son I have been on pins fore days knowing he is going in for a heart operation again and at the last minute its cancelled I am so annoyed.
We are all packed. And as mentally and emotionally prepared as you can be in this situation because we have to uproot and live in the hospital as he has to go to Bristol children’s hospital.
So it causes disruption to the whole family
Don’t get me wrong I think the NHS staff do a marvellous job and are over worked but its so frustrating when something like this happens I can’t believe we have to go down this road again in about another month when they arrange a new date and the same thing could happen again in a month

I just had to sound off because I am so frustrated

Had a friend in the same situation a few years ago and saw what it took out of him & his Mrs for a few weeks, hope built up, then crushed. As you say, it hurt them mentally, prepared for when their son was due to go in and then it didn't happen, so you have my sympathy,

Barstewards The NHS is crap mate, was told last year I needed a minor op to both hands to treat carpel tunnel syndrome, this is done under local anesthetic so it's in and out in a few hours. NHS waiting list for the Swansea area? 3 YEARS!! Go private sir? 2 WEEKS.. had the left hand done in November and the right done yesterday, total cost £2,000. Either that or 3 years of broken sleep and no bike.

i sat in a&e for 3 hours one sat. am waiting to get seen after i cut my head open ( i was just looking..) it stopped bleeding so i went home!
if i need a hospital, think i'll drive over the border and get into gloucestershire next time...
no where near as bad as what you are going through, but all this guff about the health service getting better rings a little hollow...

They are having a laugh now after mine and Mrs Tafs head has just sort of got back to reality and we told our sun his operation had been cancelled.
We have unarranged every thing that we had sorted out for
while we would be away we are sitting down watching the TV and phone rings it’s the children’s hospital ow um what it is ummm can you come in the morning but there is no grantee that the op wont be cancelled again bye the morning I thwart what to myself you are having a laugh but you have just got to bite your tongue after all its not the pore nurse who phones fault she’s just doing here job and they do a great job at that I have the utmost respect fore them it’s the fact the nhs operates this way its fu***** *ollocks

sorry to hear your news
I will say though that once your son is in the care of the childrens ward the service you get then is fantastic. My son was in for two opperations that had him in for two weeks at a time and I have great respect for all the staff we came in contact with.
I understand the heart ache you are going through and can only hope that you get the bed and opperation.

Thanks m8 could not agree with you more the staff at the children’s hospital are great we once spent eight to ten weeks there with my son had his second open heart surgery op and they truly were marvellous people

Just got to weight a month or two fore another appointment now

I hope your son is well now
