Annoying Noise

Right, I have my surf now and it is the best car I have ever driven, BUT... When i go over 65MPH this annoying bell sounds, something like an old oven bell. Is this the japanese way of stopping speeding or am i just going too fast?
Other than that the motor is great!
I did try it over some lumps on Saturday but am confused about the 4WD. I have the manual 2.4 and when i engage the 4WD with the button on the shifter and tried to go over a bump it tended to stall. Am i going about this the wrong way?

This all makes sense in my head, hope you follow my train of thought.
