  • Using the EPC

I've finally got around to reinstalling and trying out the EPC, but I'm having a few snags.....

Am I right in thinking that others have put their chassis number in and retrieved details on their Surf such as model, trim etc? I can call up a generic version of my model & spec but cannot use my chassis number.

Secondly, and I'm sure I've done this before but have foggoten how, when you find a part and click thru to get the full p/n it seems to be giving me this type of p/n "XXXXX-XXXXX-" am I missing the end bit? coz when I put this format number into the reverse p/n search to look for applicability on other models it will not acccept any of the numbers I use!

Doing my head in for the last hour

    Morr.

I've never managed to get anything other than the generic model up, my chassis number won't work either.

I've also never actually gone to the Toyota stealer with a part number from it, I've always printed out the picture and take it too them and run through where I found it.

    Cheers

I notice it still doesn't list your trim or paint codes tho.
Am I right in thinking then, that you just put your chassis number into the Frame no box and hit search to get these results?
Cause that doesn't seem to work for me, even trying your number!

I have to go into model name and select Surf, then goto model and select my version (GAPGT) in order to get any info.

NOT being the commputer wizzard I would like to be I just blunder about untill I get what I want (waists time and stops me going down the pub but the wife likes it cos Im home more). Then I wander of to the toyota main dealer with the info and he always asks where I got the info from(I just tell him I got a m8 in AUS that works for toyota and he sends me the numbers) and recons it aint right untill he looks at his own disc, then he shuts up and get me the bits. He's a good lad though and very helpful. Any one in the Ipswich area wot needs help I would recomend our toyota main dealer, they are realy quite helpful and freindly.

This might be a stupid question but have you set it up to use the Japanese data? (Initial Setup from the main menu)

Yep, just using the Jap disc's, I assume they are OK as I can find the Surf in the models list, which I assume I wouldn't find in a Euro Disc.

Ah well I'll keep trying anyway, think I have another set of EPC disc's somewhere that I got from another source, I'll have to dig em out and see if they make any difference
