Well I started copying each diagram and text beside the diagrams for one model...now in word document.

Tools, Engine, and Fuel system complete...just the trans, exterior/interior and electrics to complete.

That is excellent when used with the translator mentioned above.. it even tells me that my rudder is on the right!

hope this will be of some help to someone it covers the 1989-1993 and the 1993-1998 i dont know any prices as i havent got round to purchasing 1 for myself yet

A Word Of Warning

I've been printing the schematics off that Russian site. There seems to be a limit on how many pages you can access.

I've printed all of the tools, engine, fuel & transmission/suspension/brakes pages, and 6 or 7 of the bodywork pages. That leaves a lot of bodywork and electrical pages unaccessible. D'oh! I was well on my way to having a full expanded parts directory...

Now when I click any of the links, whether I've printed or accessed them before or not, I get "ACCESS DENIED". In English...

I may be able to log in as a different user on my work PC and see how I get on.

NOTE: Just went out of the entire site and tried to go back in - "ACCESS DENIED" to whole site...

NOTE 2: Tried the URL from a workmate's PC - no joy... Has it been denied to any of you guys?

i never got to see any of it - always been denied for me maybe they went over thier bandwidth limit?

Manual On-Line

Up until tonight I had been able to access the site with no problems - however tonight the page returns a message stating the following (after translation):

ACCESS DENIED Access is closed. Foreign traffic

On all questions write on japancats@yandex.ru

So I guess that's it then

Hello everyone!
I'm new here - hard to find something about Surf in my country, so i go abroad. I can copy pages from that source - no foreigner traffic for me. But not all at once and it take time to copy and send. Some of your can ask something (I need model, year, engine and exactly that to copy) and we try.

P.S. May be some can help me this information or source ther I can found info about my engine?

Regarding Stormforce1067's handbook link, I got a reply from them;

The owner's handbooks are translated from Japanese - they're available from stock and cost £24.50 inc P&P.

The workshop manuals are either Ellery or Gregory and cover Oz Surfs (which presumably means that they cover all Surfs?) These are not in stock and will cost about £30 inc P&P.

I've seen Ellery mentioned elsewhere either on this forum or other sites. I'm not sure they cover all aspects of our Surfs completely. Maybe between the handbook AND both Gregory AND Ellery workshop books, you might cover everything?

just downloaded the european epc and japanese epc for toyota catalogues to give a cross reference and installed the epc.exe programme and I must say its pretty good.....with schematics and drawings.

Shows the KZN185, and put in a few part numbers that I knew and hey presto, pics, part numbers and vehicles in the hilux range that they refer to.

Thanks to all for Your links. It's intresting. But in Australian site surf's are only till 06.2000 (with KZ engine), my engine is little bit different... How different thats main question for me. Uk link is in process. No sourse in my country. I can order all parts from the source that you are talking and few shops in Moscow have most spare parts on stock, that's no problem, but some general questions...
We have big sourse for users & owners of real japanies cars - http://auto.vl.ru/ (Vladivostok) only in russian language (
A lot of problems solvs there, but looks like a'm one of the first owners of such engine in Russia (official Toyota don't sell new Prado with D-4D in Russia).

P.S. EPC catalogue possible order from auto.vl and it cost 15 USD --http://auto.vl.ru/epc/ -- so thats no problem.

Правда некоторые фразы я не понял ) Наверное я не правильно выразился - я предложил помочь в возникшей проблеме с доступом к этой базе, мой же вопрос- это просто попытка найти информацию вне зависимости от моего предложения (если слишком сложно- могу попробовать перевести на английский )
